The Logic of Life: Uncovering the New Economics of Everything

I’ve just read the book by Tim Harford while flying 2h30 (each way) to continental Europe. I usually sleep the whole flight so that can only say something positive about the book.

Though presenting sound economical concepts it is also a very entertaining book.

It gets 4 out of 5. A sure buy if you’re a from the academic world looking for more “real” applications of economics or if you’d like to get a simple approach to economic reasoning. It follouws the path opened by Freakonomics which could be a problem for those hardcore pure mathematical economists.

Plus: It’s a good entertaining book that makes you alert and question more about the world. It explains complex economics problems in a simple language and providing relevant historical examples that makes it easier to understand.

Minus: Though challenging some theories seem to be lacking sufficient data to prove it. But it does make you think and be alert to the economical dynamics you’re the world. Sometimes it seems to be going over the same point a bit too much.
